DIMECC Ltd. has started Design for Value (D4V) program with industry and research partners. The DIMECC D4V program aims to enable the best possible use of digital disruption for exceptional business growth. The program focuses on door-to-door supply chain which is under digital disruptions and is rapidly changing towards an ecosystem of fully autonomous system-of-systems.
F-Secure aims to build and refine the value chain related business models of autonomous system in D4V to include holistic cyber security. “F-Secure role in D4V is to define and adapt the necessary cyber security processes and technologies within the D4V ecosystem. F-Secure has a range of new and upcoming cyber security services, such as F-Secure Rapid Detection Service which will be utilized. DIMECC is an impactful way for us to implement systemic change in practice”, says CIO Jari Still from F-Secure. “We have many years of expertise in creating and leading industry-driven co-creation programs. It has been a pleasure to note that many organisations defining the European Future seem to rely on us”, explains Dr. Harri Kulmala, CEO of DIMECC Ltd.
D4V approach is based on business ecosystems and customer value as these enable effective way to challenge the existing business models and roles of the actors in the current value chains. The program is planned for 3 years with a total budget of 19M€. The program is financed by program partners and Tekes (The Finnish funding agency for innovation).
One of the DIMECC’s D4V program’s critical roles is to implement the roadmap of Autonomous Shipping Ecosystem. Mr. Sauli Eloranta, SVP, Technology Management & Innovation from the leading industry partner Rolls-Royce Marine, explains the benefits of the program: “D4V enables the systematic change covering the whole supply chain. Although changes are ongoing in many fronts of the supply chain, the overall value network has not been disrupted yet. Without this kind of systematic approach the digital disruption of the overall value network would not be possible.”
