Global Economic Transformation Challenges the Manufacturing Industry

Geopolitical uncertainty, climate challenges and the rapid rise of AI are reshaping the industrial landscape – leaders seek solutions at Manufacturing Performance Days.

Technology Industries of Finland is one of the strategic partners at Manufacturing Performance Days (MPD), the international top-level manufacturing industry event held in Tampere on June 4–5. Organized for the ninth time, MPD brings together industrial executives, technology influencers, and solution providers from around the world. The venue is Tampere Hall.

“For Finland, the combination of strong technological expertise and growing digital capabilities offers a unique opportunity to build a lasting competitive edge. To harness this potential, our manufacturing industry must respond with determined action and broad-based collaboration,” Helle continues.

Helle will take part in a panel discussion on geopolitical developments together with Filip Geerts, Director General of CECIMO (the European Association of the Machine Tool Industries and related Manufacturing Technologies), Karoliina Hagman, Nordic Head of AI and Data at Accenture, and Rainer Brehm, CEO of Factory Automation at Siemens AG.

AI is revolutionizing productivity

The theme of the 2025 event is “Manufacturing in the Age of AI”. The program will explore the multifaceted impacts of artificial intelligence on the future of manufacturing. Discussions will address how AI is transforming production processes, its potential to boost productivity, and the ways in which technological change is reshaping working life.

In addition to geopolitical developments, the agenda will focus on sustainability goals and the critical need to align social, ecological, and economic perspectives in future industrial solutions. The dialogue emphasizes the interaction between technology, business, and people.
