Innovations & Network –programme is the first FIMECC research programme. The main focus of the programme was to create a business environment, where product design is based on concurrent engineering, open innovation and utilization of a global development and production networks. The final report summarise the achievements and the impact of the programme.
The basic idea of Innovations and Network programme was to develop new innovations, methods, business models and processes through basic research and industrial innovations. The goal was to create a business environment, where product design is based on concurrent engineering, open innovation and utilization of a global development and production networks. In all, attached services and an efficiently integrated innovation process would enable revolutionary engineering of new attractive clean and green products. The Innovations and Network programme involved the participation of a total of 46 companies and research institutes, and around 200 people.
This book will summarise the results of the programme. To mention some tangible results, so far 85 scientific peer reviewed publications have been published in international forums. The programme has generated 20 doctoral dissertations and 40 Master’s theses, and there have been 4 patent applications, of which 3 have been approved. The programme has realised more than 150 manmonths of international researcher exchange.
