Manufacturing Performance Days 2025 Explores Opportunities of AI in Manufacturing

Artificial intelligence holds vast potential in the industrial sector, with productivity improvements estimated to reach up to 14 per cent. At MPD 2025, the opportunities offered by AI will be examined practically and comprehensively, providing companies with tangible insights into its utilization.

Manufacturing Performance Days (MPD) is an international flagship event that drives the development of the manufacturing industry. In June 2025, the event will bring together top executives, technology decision-makers, experts, and technology and service providers from around the world in Tampere. The theme of the event is “Manufacturing in the Age of AI”.

MPD as an institution was started in 2007 in response to the need to bring business and technology leaders from the manufacturing and digitalizing industries to the same table to discuss future opportunities.

“MPD is a diverse and impactful event, offering a unique opportunity to discuss current topics with the leadership of pioneering companies in the industry. The upcoming event will bring together nearly 800 experts to share experiences on AI-driven solutions that can lead to significant productivity improvements,” says Jaakko Hirvola, CEO of Technology Industries of Finland.

From geopolitics to sustainability perspectives

Mikko Nyman, CEO of Oy Fastems Ab, a provider of factory automation solutions, will continue as the chair of the organizing committee for the ninth Manufacturing Performance Days event.

“We aim to structure the key phenomena of our time and offer practical solutions that can improve productivity and competitiveness today. The MPD program is designed so that busy executives can efficiently learn and absorb new insights, says Nyman.

The AI theme at the event will be explored from five perspectives: How will AI impact manufacturing? How will the global geopolitical situation evolve? How will work change? How can we combine social, ecological, and economic perspectives? How can we prepare for the unexpected? All five discussion themes will consider the interaction between technology, business, and people.

An event for decision-makers

“MPD is unique as an event concept, as it comprehensively reaches decision-makers and is organized in collaboration with partners,” says Harri Kulmala, CEO of DIMECC Oy, who is responsible for organising the event.

Confirmed partners to date include Fastems, Siemens, Technology Industries of Finland, Tampere University, Beckhoff, Top Data Science, Netum, PipeCloud and DIMECC. The 2025 event is supported by the City of Tampere, the Tampere Chamber of Commerce, the Finnish-German Chamber of Commerce, and European manufacturing industry networks MANUFUTURE, CECIMO, and A.SPIRE.

In 2023, MPD attracted approximately 600 attendees to the heart of the industry and technology in Tampere.

Manufacturing Performance Days “Manufacturing in the Age of AI” will be held at Tampere Hall on June 4–5, 2025. More information: www.mpdays.com
