Digital twins are a key enabler of industrial digitalization, supporting smarter design, predictive maintenance, process optimization, and new service-based business models. The Digital Twins in Action project develops next-generation digital twin solutions that combine artificial intelligence, 4G/5G connectivity, 360° imaging, and standardized data exchange to enable real-time situational awareness, remote diagnostics, and virtual support services.
The project will create and validate demonstrators in real industrial environments together with leading Finnish technology providers and manufacturing companies. By advancing digital services, operational efficiency, and lifecycle management, the project strengthens the international competitiveness of Finnish industry while supporting sustainability, energy efficiency, and the green transition. The project is part of Nokia’s Veturi LEAD.
The project partners are Nokia, Valmet Automation, Pemamek, Mirka, Fastems, Vaski Group and the University of Tampere.
